Who Gives a Rat’s Ass WHAT You Think???
You know, let’s all admit it. We all walk around, or at least most of us walk around, feeling self-conscious. All of us always want people to like us. We, as humans seek approval, it’s just what we do.
But you see, the problem is, it doesn’t always work out very well for us. We all go about our day with the best of intentions. We try to do our best, at least most of the time, and we try our best to get along with people. It just doesn’t always work out that way.
Listen, there will always be that person at work that might have the digs in for you. If you are a writer, or God forbid you have a YouTube channel, there are thousands of haters. They hide behind their computers and spew out all kinds of condemnation and judgment. Why? Maybe they’re miserable? I dunno, maybe they have no life? Maybe they have nothing better to do with their time? Maybe they’re jealous because you have the balls to do what they won’t and don’t? But you know what? Who gives a flying rat’s ass what they think?!
Eleanor Roosevelt once said “What other people think of me is none of my business.” When you step back and think about it, and it took me awhile to really look deep into that, it really is true. Opinions are like belly buttons, everybody has one. These people, anybody, everybody, can think whatever they want about you. They can think anything they want about me. At the end of the day, it’s really none of my business, or yours what anybody thinks about either one of us. Everybody’s entitled to an opinion. Just the same, we can feel the same way about them.
It’s none of my business if you hate me, love me, respect me… Why? Because what YOU think of me is irrelevant. I love who I am , regardless of what you, or anybody else that walks this Earth thinks of me. And exactly the same thing goes for you! You need to live your life by this mantra, every single day. It will probably be the most liberating moment, once you realize that it’s completely true, that you will ever have. There comes a freedom when you truly accept this, because you realize that you don’t have to live to please anybody except for yourself.
So, who cares what ANYBODY else thinks? Not me, and now, HOPEFULLY, not you :0)
