Ever hear of organized chaos???
Listen, I’ve seen monkey shit fights more organized than my life. I am the last person that should ever cast a stone about a messy desk, trust me. Or a messy vehicle. Or a messy house. You get the idea…
So my husband will say, “Good gravy, our son can’t even fit in his half of the backseat, and this is a truck!” And I’ll have a reason that justifies the lack of space. Then, I’ll be in my office, and I’ll say, “Can you hand me that paper over there?” And as he goes to get it for me, and as if in slow motion, an entire pile sloooooooooooowly slides across, down and off my desk onto the floor. And yep, here it comes…. THE LOOK…
You know the one. The look that says “Ummmmmmmm… yeah… okay… and I married you, smh…”
Now don’t get me wrong, it may be a mess, but it’s MY mess, and I know where the heck everything is because I PUT IT THERE. There’s a name for that. Organized Chaos. Now don’t get me wrong, that’s not an excuse, that’s a reason. Big difference.
Listen, a messy desk is the sign of a creative mind. (That’s my story and I’m sticking to it… )
I got to work the other day, and saw a piece of paper laying on my keyboard. It was a ticket from the desk police. Saying that I had the messiest desk in the office, and it was a hazard, AND I was being fined two egg rolls, lol! (Had to be from my buddy Bobaloo, the only person that likes Chinese food as much as I do, lol!). I guess I should be flattered, there’s over 125 people in our office. But, I must digress…
At the end of the day, organized chaos can be a good thing. As long as something is where YOU know it is and YOU can quickly find it, TECHNICALLY, you’re being organized. I didn’t say neat, I said ORGANIZED. And when somebody makes a comment about it? I just ask, “Whose office is this, mine or yours??? Well, when becomes your office, and I’m using it, come talk to me about it!”
In the meantime, it IS my circus, and those ARE my monkeys… Now, where the hell did they go?! SOMEBODY’S gotta clean this mess!!!!
